Frequently Asked Questions
Are we shooting a film during the workshop?
We are not going to shoot a film during the workshop. We will go deep into storytelling, workshop your story, have discussions around making your film, dive into hands-on scene construction exercises and map out practical next steps to get your film made now.
Do we need to bring gear? A laptop?
No gear is needed. You are welcome to bring a laptop if that’s how you take notes. You are free to bring an SLR if you enjoy looking through a lens as we meet.
Do I need to stay at The Wilde? What if I make other arrangements?
You can stay wherever you would like. There will be some optional and casual nighttime meetups at The Wilde that you can join regardless of where you are staying.
Are meals provided?
You are responsible for your meals and there are many nearby options. Please refer to the DETAILS page.
We will be providing dinner on our final night together.
Where is the nearest airport? Do I need a car?
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the nearest major hub about a two hour drive from Sedona. It has the widest selection of flights and carriers. You can rent a car or take the Groome Shuttle directly to Sedona.
If you’d like to fly into a smaller airport closer to Sedona, Flagstaff and Prescott are alternatives with shorter drives. Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG) is 45 minutes away and Prescott Regional Airport (PRC) is about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Sedona. Transportation may be more limited from these airports.
You can certainly rent a car if you want to explore Sedona in your free time. If you are staying at The Wilde, you will be within walking distance to our workshop locations, restaurants and food markets.
Are we hiking? How strenuous is it?
We will be casually walking a bit but nothing strenuous. You will need water and sun protection. Some of our program includes discussions and scene construction exercises outside among the red rocks.
